What's your favorite brand/model you carry or use for certain situations? Please list examples like;
1. small pocket every day knife
2. medium carry folder
3. large carry folder
4. field/camp knife. ete.

What is the "best knife for the money" 3" blade and 3 3/4" blade?

Mine:
1. spyderco dragon fly, CRKT small Ticke Tac, or Buck B274 2 blade.
2. Benchmade Mel Pardue 722 axis, CRKT M18-12
3. CRKT M16-14 (new and testing) or M16-13sf
4. BK&T 2 Companion or BKT7

I always carry the spyderco and of course my favorite is
the Benchmade axis lock.

1.) Small pocket/everyday knife ~ A 3" Buck Model #704. I always have this knife on me, no matter what else I am carrying.

2.) Medium carry folder ~ A 4" Cold Steel Large Voyager Tanto with the plain edge. (My favorite pocket knife...period!)

3.) Large carry folder ~ The same. I do own a 5" Cold Steel Voyager Tanto, but thus far I've never encountered a situation that my 4" Voyager folder couldn't handle.

4.) Field/Camp Knife ~ On camping trips I pack two knives. The first is a Cold Steel Carbon V Trailmaster Bowie, and the second an "unknown" survival knife. Basically, it appears to be a Maxam clone or copy. You guys know the type ~ 440 Stainless steel, 7" blade with serrations on the spine, and a hollow handle with a small survival kit. (Matches, fishhooks, line, etc.) It's identical to my genuine Maxam, only it has no markings whatsoever and the handle has an unfinished look, complete with lathe marks. (My guess is that someone snitched it from the production line) It's not the greatest knife in the world, but considering that I picked it up from e-Bay for only $6.99, it's yet another "so what" knife and I do have to admit that it has its uses.

I would mention my choice for best 3" knife for the money, but I'd sound like Lynn Thompson's spokesman. :D

1. small pocket every day knife

Benchmade AFCK Mini

2. medium carry folder

Benchmade AFCK Mini

3. large carry folder

Benchmade AFCK

Benchmade AFCK (the Advanced Folding Camping Knife, really!)

What is the "best knife for the money" 3" blade

Benchmade AFCK Mini

and 3 3/4" blade?

Benchmade AFCK

Swiss Army; Victorinox Swiss Champ

Spiderco Delica plain edge

Cold Steel Extra Large Voyager, plain edge clip point; my favorite

14 inch reverse-tanto machete with custom Spiderco serrated edge

To me the very best value in this smaller 3" blade is the Cold Steel large Voyager, clip point, plain edge.

Small pocket every day knife William Henry T09 Cascade (MOP scales, Mike Norris stainless damascus, sterling silver bolsters, etc.)
Medium carry folder Trailing Moon Small Sebenza
Large carry folder I don't believe in them. It's kind of an existential thing...they don't believe in me either.;) Actually, I have smallish hands, and I don't like heavy knives hangin' off me.
Field/Camp knife Two knives -- Becker BK7 and Leatherman Wave.

What is the "best knife for the money" 3" blade and 3 3/4" blade? Not enough info. to answer this. Depends entirely on what you want to do with it, if there's a price ceiling, etc.

Changes often, but today:
Victorinox Soldier
Benchmade lepard Cub
Large Sebenza
Camp Tramp

"best knife for the money"...FRN Delica and FRN Endura

I have a total of 2 knives my best carry is my Benchmade 690. It goes equally well with jeans as it does with a suit and is strong enough I don't hesitate to use/lose it. I have an Almar SERE2000 inbound. Got that strictly on what I've heard about them here.

1. Spyderco Spydercard
2. Emerson Commander
3. MOD CQD Duane Dieter
4. Strider BD

Notice that I don't carry my customs ;) or is it :(

I have gotten the most enjoyment out of my MOD CQD :)

1. small pocket every day knife - MT UDT
2. medium carry folder - MOD Tempest
3. large carry folder - DDR Madd Maxx
4. field/camp knife. etc - TOPS Anaconda

Best knife for the money - BM 942

I've kinda thinned out my collection to ones that I will carry. I had a few BM KOTM and a fully serrated AFCK but I sold them to a friend of Dwayne Dwyer's (sp?) at a gun show. They were NIB and I was too afraid to mess them up so I might as well let someone else do it.

Small carry... I hardly carry a small folder but if I do, it's a 3" Case bone handle Texas Toothpick. I have been recently carrying a Larry Ramey Ti necker instead of a small folder.

Medium carry... BM 722 or MT UT6

Large carry... BM43, Buck Strider, SERE 2000, or a REKAT Sifu

Camp/heavy work... Buck Strider, BM43

Love these type threads........especially after a few new ones arrive!

large carry.........large Classic Sebenza or one of the following;

1. Spyderco Merlin
2. None
3. CRKT Apache LE and SOG Tomcat
4. CS Mini Kukri
5. CRKT Apache LE

Small fixed edc: Jens Anso Damasheep
Small folder edc: Spyderco Dragonfy (CF with ATS-55 blade)
Medium edc: Small 'Pheasant tail' Sebenza
Large edc: Spyderco Calypso (large)
Field: Marttiini handforged little leuku gets 30-40% of carrying time.

Best for money under 3 inch: Spyderco Calypso jr ltwt. (discontinued)
Best for money about 3 3/4 inch Spyderco Calypso (blade is 4 inch)(discontinued)

My choices are:

1. small folder: Spyderco Ladybug (always on keychain)

Considering my current EDC's
1. Wenger Handyman

4. Favorite of the moment is Swamp Rat Camp Tramp

Best knives for the money are the Delica and Endura.

Small blade: Tie-Spyderco Native & CUDA Arclite neck knife
Medium: Al Mar SERE 2000
Large: 4" Cold Steel Gunsite Folder is my largest
Fixed blade: Cold Steel SRK, but just picked up a Wilson Tactical
Model 2 I want to break in

Best 3" knife for the money? Not quite 3", but I love my Spyderco Native.

Best 3 3/4"? Gotta go with my SERE 2000. For what I paid, it's the best knife I've ever owned. Tremendous quality in a production folder.
