This labor day weekend my family and I decided to explore a new area near or house. The road down to the middle yuba river is an amazing hand stacked rock road on the side of steep canyon with a descent of 1200 feet. The road was built in 1913 to connect two large mining camps of the area.20170902_144535-2016x1134.jpg 20170902_144713-1134x2016.jpg
Here is a view off the edge...

Once down to the river it was awesome labor day weekend and not anyone in site and didn't have to drive back and forth looking for a parking spot. 20170902_152053-2016x1134.jpg

The perfect day and a new favorite spot that is also the closest place for us to get in the water. Can't believe its right around the corner and in almost 2 years living here i just now found it.

That is awesome brother!
So, when did you say I can move in?
I promise I won't bother ya, it'll just be me and INFI.
Sweet spot honor....very jealous over here on the east coast.

You can move out here soon just go ahead and send all your infi out first that way you don't have to bother traveling with all that wheight ;)
If you are ever coming to northern California hit me up. I live in Tahoe national forest high in the mountains so there is never a dull moment up here. The more I explore the more I love this area.
Yea, very cool. Great pics.

Get a chance to swing that parang?
Oh yeah it has a permanent place strapped to the side of my pack in easy position to draw and clear brush and vines from our path. The parangs are awesome 20170902_161555-2016x1134.jpg

I'd love to move to Cali!
Unfortunately, they won't allow my firearms. And that is a whole different topic.
Still have to visit....that is some killer scenery you got there brother. Love the great pics.

Tell us about the finish on the R6 and TG. Looks very cool. That is awesome you live so close to a beautiful spot like that!

The rodent 6 has a simple patina that I applied by putting mustard on my finger and smeared it around and let it dry then was it off. The Tglb was clean and free of any spots a few months ago but carrying it in wet conditions caused the speckled look. I Liked the way it looked so I haven't polished it up
