Best Lanyard????

What is the best Lanyard for a survival knife? I read something a while back about parachute cord. Anyone have any opinions???

Paracord is nice because it's not only strong, but also versatile. You can pull out the individual strands and use them for trapping, sewing clothes, or even suturing a wound (not that I'd suture with non-sterile material...but still). The downside is that it absorbs moisture. Not a big deal if it gets dropped in a bucket of water. But it can be a big deal if you spill fuel or something on it.
