I've seen people using nylon lock nuts for their beckers. but i know most of them are not reusable so i did some search and i found this.

i'm not sure if its the right size as it's been a while since i bought them. it fits flush within the grivory and micarta handles.

10-24 is the official thread size.

I get that locking nuts have their purposes. But I've been using regular nuts and split washers instead. This actually allows for a much more common 3/4" screw to be used instead of 5/8".

If I remember correctly, the 10-24 screws I bought had a coarser thread than the stock screws and I ended up getting 10-32's.

Why so?

If the nylon is not damaged, there should hold up to repeated use. Maybe not 100's of times but certainly dozens of times. How often are scales typically removed?

And Charlie_K's solution is a good one.
