What are the opinions about the best lubrication for the moving parts on folding knives? I have seen Tuf Glide, White Lighting and others, but have heard no testimonials about a preferred lube. I used to use good old 3in1 when I was young, and never liked the stuff for all the crud it collected.

I just got some Militec Weapons Grade Metal COnditioner from a forumite. It is supposed to be wonderful stuff and I will have to see over the long term how it does. Previously I had been satisfied with the White Lightning but I'm always willing to try something new. The Militec is an oil whereas the White Lightning is a waxy type product.

If you are interested in trying Militec, Nakano2 has some for sale in the exchange forum under Dealer Sales. He is donating all proceeds to the World Trade Center charities.

Thanks for the reply, Peter.
I was moving toward the White Lightening, because it was a wax based product and I thought it would be less likely to collect crud.
Thanks for the tip on the Militec lube. I figured there are probably a few lubes out ther used on gun actions that might be good.

Definitely go with Militec-1, its the best stuff!!! I have used several lubricants, and think its just awesome. I would be careful with white Lightning, it can gum and slow up the actions on several knives, trust me, its not beneficial for all knives.
