I want to choose a machete that is really hard to break, is great for bushcraft, batoning, choping wood like machete or axe and self defense, Can someone please help me? I can't decide

1311

Unfortunately it's discontinued, but I usually see a few get sold here each year.
They Are out there.

Ive come to the conclusion that it's the best blade (They) are going to make.

The Danny Trejo brand is the best!

As far as flat out bang for buck, I like imacasa and tramontina. With the edge (ayuk ayuk) going to imacasa. If you're looking to spend a bit more and not have to put the entire edge on yourself, then condor.

It's pretty hard to beat a Martindale crocodile. In my opinion they're the best machete made. That's if you can find one. I ran into a box of them at my local hardware store. $12 you can't beat them and their quality

I have a condor it's 420hc I really don't like it. But you never got enough knives anyway

Two knives that might be worth a try. The first one is longer than the second but is light so you can cut very well with it. Generally are reported to have very good edge retention and come with a very sharp edge

You list a lot of competing qualities. At least state what the top one or two priorities should be, then the wise folks here can make better recommendations.

And welcome to BF.

"Best machete" and what you specify are two very different things.

I'm not clicking all those links; but, from reading them, the BK21 is the best. I would eliminate the Hibben and CRKT options without consideration.
I've tried a Condor parang - I noticed a couple on your list...many seem to like them; but I hated mine. Found it quite awkward to use; and, since I had other machetes available, I set it aside and haven't touched it since. If you want it, it's yours for the cost of shipping.

SYKCO 1311 and 1111 are awesome; but they don't seem much like fighters. Same with the Kabar Becker BK20. The Zombie Tools Rat Bastard, too. I'll throw in the Busses BB13 (CG or BG) for good measure. How serious was the self defense part of your requirement? Any of the above could be used; but they simply aren't designed as fighters. If you think there is a reasonable likelihood it will be pressed into that kind of action, maybe a khukuri is a better option for you (followed by lots of practice)

Need to do some thinking on what you need most .

IMO , unless you have the strength of Hercules , the best (heavy )wood choppers are too unwieldy for SD . 🤨

For a true machete that’s very tough I’d say a Ontario is the one. I prefer Tramontina’s but you said tough to break. Never broke any but the Ontario is thicker and much more stiff feeling. Here is the 12” next to a woodsman pal which is a unique blade also 436DB29A-42D1-4219-B6E4-51C379D95F4F.jpeg

^^^^^what he said

I have a Camillus Becker Patrol machete, a Puma machete, and a Woodsman's Pal. Of those, only the Woodsman's Pal is being produced, I believe. The Puma is so rare I only mention it because I have one...lol..
