Best Mora for under 20

The 711 is my personal favorite in the sub 20 dollar range given its great ergonomic handle and great blade steel.

100% agreed!

That´s a great knife. It will serve you well. Mora-typical - not a real beauty, but it will get the job done very, very well. (I have mine in the toolbox and a few brand new in a bag, just for case, I´ll loose it)

Kind regards

Mora Robust looks good. I love my Clipper and the Robust is pretty much just a Clipper with a thicker blade.

I second the companion, the best all around knife I have. The handle of the robust is too large. Rehandle the robust and maybe...If you are more of a if it ain't broke don't fix it just get the companion. ...Also the 780, kind of like it more than the companion, but hate the sheath.

Yep...the 711 or its 7nn kin are the ones. There are the black handled ones and army green handled ones in both carbon steel and stainless. I have 3 of the 4...I think I lack the black stainless. They also come with longer blades too. Nice thing about the 711 family is that the sheath is a lot more useable out of the box than some although the new generation of Mora sheaths are getting a lot better.

Personally I like the ultra cheapo red plastic handle knife. I'm not sure what it's called but I bought one for my son as a first knife, and I end up using it more than he does. I think it cost eight bucks.

I like the 546G. I use it to dress deer. Super sharp, very durable. I did buy a Grizzly sheath for it. Sheath was 3x as much as the knife, but worth it. Basic knife is only $11 though.

I just ordered a mora robust. At $15 bucks it's a total steal. Now I have to find a decent sheath.

I'll chime in and say the Robust - simply for it's wider blade.

Used one recently to clean up some one-inch thick bamboo to use as a hiking pole, and was amazed at how easily it went through the bamboo shoots that were branching off the segments.

Personally, I think the sheath that comes with it is just fine.

robust man all day its beast really nice for 15 bucks. .here it went though a bunch of treated wood like a boss haha

Me too ... or the 746 if you prefer stainless. They are 4" long blades

... or the 731/748 if you prefer a longer (5-3/4") blade in carbon/stainless

... or the 749 8" stainless if you have a watermelon that needs carving!!!

just ordered a stainless companion from ya 42. not sure what to expect, i have never owned a Mora and everyone seems to love em so i had to check one out

Oughta' do great for you! The Companions live up to their name nicely.

I have the 511, which is a fine knife. If I had to do it again, I would go with the classic red birch handled Mora.
