Best MP3 Player?

Hi,

I need to buy my one daughter a new MP3 player for Christmas. Her old 2gig Sansa died. She wants a new one of at least 8gigs capacity. Dad wants less than $100. And no iPods. I looked at a new Sansa, but the reviews where less than positive.

What else should I look for?

I have a zune and it works well. I think they have some smaller ones like you are looking for, under $100.
 
My Girlfriend uses a creative zen and she loves it. A plus might be that my GF is hard on stuff and it is still going strong.

I'd go with any of the Samsung ones, I hada YP-P2 and it was the greatest MP3 I ever owned.

I have the 8gb Zune in black and it works for me and sounds great and the software is simple and easy. My mom has one and she can put songs of and off and download them to the computer by herself and she is not at all computer savy.
 
I have 2 Sansa 8gb Clips and a Fuze. Flawless operation, affordable and no hard drive.
