Howdy all,
I have had a Leatherman Blast for around 7yrs but somehow managed to lose it a couple weeks ago.:(
I am in charge of upkeep of 10 to 20 rental houses, so a multitool is a great friend to have with me and am missing it greatly!
I would like to get another Leatherman that is strong with all the basic features such as strong pliers, knife, saw, screw drivers, and a file.
If it has a bottle opener, etc that is fine but not necessary.
I would just get another Blast, but since I already had one I would like to try out a different one.
I think the looks of the Skeletool are kind of interesting, but would rather have a good strong multi-tool than a cool looking one. (the Skeletool may be good and strong too, i don't know)
Definitely a fan of function over form.
I was thinking it would be nice to have direct access to the blade, but since I never go anywhere without one of my Spydercos I guess that really isn't too big of an issue.
If you know of a certain one I should stay away from or have some good recommendations for me I would love to hear about it!
Pics are alway a plus too! :D Thanks!

Definitely, the Super Tool 300 is the goods. I have one for when I expect heavy use and can't praise it highly enough. However, it is heavy for an EDC, which may or may not be a problem for you. It was for me when I set out to carry a Surge. At first I thought it would be an easy adjustment after having carried a Super Tool almost daily for 9 years, but the extra weight turned out to be 3 ounces too much. Instead, I would recommend the Wave or Swisstool Spirit. Between them, it's a personal choice. I prefer the Leatherman, but the Spirit has its fans, and for good reason. The small number of chores you might find a bit much for either is far outweighed by their balance of utility and portability, the best at any price.

I cant say enough good things about the Rebar, a scaled down ST300 that has handled everything Ive needed it to. It may fulfill your needs at slightly less weight than the 300 but that is a personal preference that's up to you.

Thanks for the replies!
I now have a place to start my search. I think I will have to check out the Rebar first if it is a slightly scaled down version of the ST300. I probably don't need everything the ST300 has, but it never hurts to have too many tools as apposed to not enough! May come down to price, but we'll see.
Thanks again!

I have been using the Wave for 2 years. Pretty useful, around $58 on Amazon, depending on when you buy it.

I have been carrying a Rebar since the day it hit the store shelves and I really like it, but find in my urban life style, I really wish I had scissors. Otherwise, it has everything I use day to day, and the Leatherman Juice bit kit pairs up with it very well. I'm now in the market for a ST Spirit X that includes scissors and outside accessible tools.

Just got to handle a wave from a friend and that has most of the basic tools and it is pretty comfortable! Not a bad price too! May have to go with the wave. The Rebar and ST300 are stinking nice, but I don't really need all the extra tools to justify the additional price.

The rebar online and in alot of stores Ive seen is alot less than the wave, Ive seen it around the 30-40$ mark.

I just picked up a brand new ST300 for $47.95 a couple weeks ago, you can find some good deals if you look around.

Ok, well I'll check around a little bit, but this is going to be an early Christmas gift from a friend that really isn't into knives so I'm not sure he will want to look to long before buying.
He's not like some of us knife nuts that drool on our keypads as we check out the newest and greatest!
