im looking for a new pack and i dont know much about what materials are go and what is not so good. i was looking at a 5.11 rush 24 a condor urban go pack and multiple maxpeditions. any moor suggestions i do not want to spend more than 120. thanks

If you are going to be carry more then say 20 pounds of gear a pack with a good hip belt/pad and frame (suspension system) will make life much better. The smaller Maxpedition bags are built well, but not comfortable to carry when loaded with 20+ pounds because they do not have frames or proper Kidney/Hip belts/pads. The Maxpedition Vulture II 3 day assault pack looks to have a good hip beelt/pad. Kelty, Alps, Gregory and other outdoor pack companies make day and over night packs with frames and proper belts that help take the load off ones shoulders and put it on the hips where you can handle it better. Some of the companies also make a Military line with Molle if you need/want it.

If you can tell us the type of pack, it's inteded uses and how much volume you need we can better help you narrow down your options. :)

How rough are you on your gear? I take good care of my stuff so I still have my pack I got at rei 20 years ago and it looks new. So in my case any material will work fine. Things to look for are good stitching and a proper fit. Proper fit being the most important aspect of any pack.

i do want s straps and am quite rough on my gear and i will be carry quite a load also what is the quality an the condor because i like the belt that comes across. thanks for the info

sorry 2 straps and i think i will get the condor 3 day assult pack does any one have one ? thanks

I have a condor assault pack and pouch, construction quality is between maxpedition and nameless chinese crap. You can get quite heavy loads with a 3 day pack, if you're going to be hauling a lot of stuff then getting a quality pack with a good frame and waist belt would be better for your body (but not as good for your wallet).

is the maxpedition condor ii a comfortable pack with 20+ lbs loads? also are red rock packs good quality? thanks
