Best Person to reprofile and sharpen a Busse Game Warden

I have a used Busse Game Warden that I bought online. It looks a though it was well used but not abused. It also looks as if someone started to apply a convex edge but did not quite get it right. The knife cuts but the edge is so thick I wonder if it will ever be a decent cutter.

Who would be the best person to thin the edge and grind it to a convex profile?

I have read several posts where someone had redone a Busse for members. I just can't find them now.

Ban also does fantastic work. I would be proud to have any of my Busses 'Banned,' and I'm an extremely picky person!!

You know this little knife is already scratched up and is an official "user."

However I would feel better giving over to someone who knows Busses.

If you want to try it yourself, then there is a series of threads by Justabuyer on doing exactly what you ask for.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned simply sending it back to Busse. Give them a call, they will likely put you in touch with Garth to discuss thinning the edge. But they are all certainly busy right now with last-minute craziness before Blade. Next week things will probably be back to the normal level of craziness (unless Jerry gives them time off to recover )

I haven't heard of Busse doing any convex sharpening on v-grind edges.

I think I have heard of them taking an asymmetric edge and making it a v-grind.

If you want a hair splitting sharp convex edge, Ban is the way to go.
