Some places to stay away from?

How much of a notice do they require to cancel, and is a full refund available?

Also, are metal items like this hand gripper allowed in carry on?

Thanks

All your questions can be a bit hit or miss. To get definate answers I would ask the airline you intend to travel with.
They are going to know more about it than any one else :)

For refunds you can expect to pay a fee for canceling but you might get a full refund. The amount of notice time can be changable too,
I would think at least a few days would be fine for most airlines.

Taking things like the grippers may or may not be allowed, it will depend on where you fly from.
If you really want something like that you can probably just take a soft ball or tennis ball instead.

For tickets it can sometimes be better to buy through the airline direct and it's sometimes better to use a booking agent to get special deals and what not.
It seems to also depend on what country you are booking from in my experience.

I guess it depends on the airline and the destination, but for the few times my wife has flown to Santa Barbara, I got the best pruce by going to the airlines website. The so called discount companies like Orbitz and Priceline charged a lot more. It may be a different story to fly to major airports. Also, booking on line costs less because there are no humans involved. ;)

You will have to check the various airlines and ticket agents regarding refund policies.

Forget the grip thingy. You can live without it for a few hours. If things get rough, grab the stewardess*.

*Yeah, I know, they aren't called that anymore.

Thanks for the tips. :D

Vacation, from one US state to another. Grippers, need them for the week and a half, but yes, tennis balls also work.

It's interesting, I am looking at both Delta and NWA's websites, and Delta doesn't seem to list NWA flights, but according to this article, NWA is a part of it: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/di...nternational_says_goodbye_to_nwa_hello_delta/

P.S. all sorted out. Thanks again.
