Just wondering. I'm sure there are a few of you who are knowledgeable in this area. I just want to buy a simple lockback knife(maybe with a damascus blade) with a mammoth ivory handle. Where's the best place to buy one at a reasonable price that is good quality? Thanks.

I have looked at that knife a couple of times. Very nice, you can't go wrong with a case in my opinion. Steven

Don't know about the mammoth ivory, but CASE knives have impressed me with their quality and consistency:thumbup:

The Mini Copperlock is an excellent but somewhat underrated lockback:Good edge and very slim in the pocket, it's not so mini either as it's around 9cms 3.5" closed. I have two, a old red bone pocket worn & an amber bone, certain it looks really good in mammoth ivory too!

What I'd like is a medium lockback in Ram's horn scales:D

You would probably have to go to a custom maker for mammoth ivory, but "Buck" Custom shop has some nice! Sambar stag & they can do damascus on a 110 for about $180.

For some other options, go to the AG Russell website and search on mammoth, mastodon and "mastedon" and you will find a few good options.

Be cautious with Case. In November I purchased 4 to get a taste of what they were like- and all 4 showed serious fit and finish flaws as well as arriving not sharp! To top it all off they never returned my e-mails. Many people have had good luck with them but they lost me as a customer. I would advise that you try and see your knife in person if you are looking for an ivory knife as then you know EXACTLY what you are getting.

Good luck with your search!
