Why would you buy from anyone but Ben Dale? Someone mentioned recently that the best price they found was 119.95. Well, big whoop....you can buy it direct from Ben for 125.00 ( for the Apex)

I've heard repeatedly, on this forum, that Ben Dale is a great guy and very responsive to email. Very willing to help and offer advice.

It's now time for me to join that crowd. Day before yesterday I emailed several questions to Ben regarding the differences between the Professional and the Apex. Sierra, who works in his office, emailed (in less than 10 minutes) and said she would forward the message and Ben would be able to answer "from his location" whatever that meant.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from Ben. He's in California undergoing some sort of medical treatment (for what I don't know and wouldn't feel at liberty to say if I did). He says he's forced to use computers belonging to other folks and after writing a fairly extensive answer to my email, for some reason he couldn't get it to send.

So, he calls me at home and offered friendly, extensive information ( plus answers to questions that hadn't even occurred to me) for about twenty minutes. ON HIS DIME!!! So, I reiterate.......why would someone buy from anyone else??

My 2 cents. John in Boise

Agreed. Ben is fantastic to deal with, and very helpful. You might save $5 or so, but it's just not worth it. Better technical support and service from the man, himself.

I'm in Europe and I ordered direct a week or so ago. As already posted, why not buy direct from the man?

I bought the Apex from Ben at the Eugene show last year. $125 and he threw in an extra stone and polishing tapes. I agree, best to buy from the maker and you will always get excellent service from Ben. I hope he gets well soon and makes it to the Eugene show next month. I also enjoy watching him work the edge pro.

Amen! He was willing to substitute stones that fit my specific needs.

to buy directly, that would be directly from the edge pro website, right ?

Thom, as far as moving to the US, thanks for the suggestions. I would love to, seriously, and one day for sure I will move there. Having a green card or someone to marry would make it easier though. Do you know someone ;)

Well, you'd have to contact Ben through email or over the phone. His site's not set up for ecommerce quite yet. It's worth the extra steps to buy directly from Ben, but the extra steps exist nonetheless.

I don't know anyone in the market for mail-order knife-obsessed grooms. Funny, how that works. Getcher green card and get over here.
