Where is the best place to buy Bucks in your town? Would especially like to hear from honesttom because I know he is in Missoula. Here I would have to say Sportsmans Warehouse. Where in your town?

Best selection, not price, is The Outdoorsman in Greenwood, IN. Its a mom and pop shop that I like to support. Best price but not selection, sadly, is WM. A Cabelas was being built in Greenwood, but today it was announced that the project is on hold. As a matter of fact, Cabelas has stopped all new building projects except for two stores. Not sure which locations.

Closest place (only) is Wal-Mart, best place is Gander Mountain about 45 minutes south.

The best place locally????... LOL, thats why I own a computer!
IF I buy locally it would be Cabelas about 2 hours away...
99% of mine come from online...

...I'm with Jim on this one. I'm really kina "off the beaten path" down here and the availability of the internet helps to get knives you don't see around here. We do have "Wally's" joints about every mile and a half down US 19 but traveling that road is an invitation to the body shop. Too many "blue-haired" ladies tryin' to drive around here...:p

On Long Island, NY there are actually a few knife stores and gun store that have a good selection. One knife shop called the Swordsman has five big show cases of knives all production and most low level and over priced. T&T Gunnery has a large knife section including autos and is fairly priced. American Outdoor Guns has six cases of knives including autos and is fair to high priced.....that said I buy mostly off the net.

I buy mostly off the net mainly because the stores that are near me only carry the very common Bucks. Wally 119's and 110's are hard to beat, but how many standard models does a guy need ;)

I go for the L.E. knives or the Customs. NO ONE here carries anything like that. :(

Heck even the S30V Kalingas are still non-existant here...

Everyone carries the lowest priced models, none more than $40.00.

Guess it depends on location. I can get the Kalinga with S30V right off the shelf here in town. I probably would buy on line if I were a collector. I'm just a guy who likes Buck knives and comes here to learn more.

I think Sportsmans warehouse has the best selection, but i've never bought a knife from them, most of my knives i buy it get online, also sportsmans surplus has some buck knives and once in a great while i'll find some good ones on consignment.

Hey honesttom. Just went to Sportsmans Warehouse this morning for some honing oil. Forgot about it and walked out with a 301. Dont know where my mind was.:D

Went to a Farm & Fleet store about 25 miles away this morning. They had the110 with leather sheath for $23.99 so I bought another one.

......That's another thing I miss terribly since leaving Wisconsin...Farm & Fleet stores. There wasn't anything I ever needed or wanted that they didn't have in stock. I wonder if they are still as good as they were. They used to have a huge selection of Buck knives in their own area. Other knives were quite numerous and many manufacturers were well represented. Florida doesn't have anything to rival Farm & Fleet. Tractor Supply is about as close as you'll get but they ain't varied enough nor do they have a selection of knives. Yes...I am kina tryin' to put a potential "move" into the better half's mind...if not Wisconsin...somewhere I'll see "seasons" again...:D...

Wal-Mart is probably the best bet for a Buck in my area. I think they also sell them at Sports Authority stores. Like many here I make most of my knife purchases over the internet.

I have a mom & pop sporting goods store nearby that has a decent selection of Bucks. It's the only place that carries anything in a premium steel, but their inventory moves slowly and they don't always have a "new" model for a few years.

It's a great place to find those Idaho and Anvil tang stamps :D
