Ok, I've decided my forge has too much open space. I'm spending too much time waiting for billets to heat. If I reduce the space in the forge with a couple more layers (it's about 10" in diameter with only one layer of Kaowool) it should heat quicker, right? You can tell I've been in the hot shop all day.
This and the idea Indian George has me thinking about with a blower wil help a great deal I think. I just need to know the best place to get the lining. I'm also getting another small gas forge just for forging and it needs a liner also. Thanks.
