Best Pocket Clip

I here a lot of complaints regarding pocket clips like the Microtech LCC and others. However, I'm curious what members consider the best pocket clip on a production folder. For me it is the EDI Gen I. The clip allows for the deepest carry on any folder I own and it has remained secure and never gotten snagged on anything like some of the others I own. The most original award would have to go to my BM 690.

Of those with which I'm familiar, it is easy -- the clip on the Impulse, and I believe the Magna, maybe Paragee, from Outdoor Edge. It never misses the edge of my pockets, its grip is firm, but not too tight, and most of all, you can't feel it in your hand when gripping the knife. I'm amazed the other companies aren't in line banging on David Bloch's door for licenses.

Clip on the Sebenza is my favorite. Small, unobtrusive, yet secure.
I like the clips on most Benchmades, and Spydercos, too, but Emerson's is even better, IMO.

I love the clip on my S&W swat, though not a great blade. I use it for work, and at work I am moving around a lot and climbing all over things, getting into wierd poisitions. It slides in easy and i have had no problems.

Well my favorite pocket clip is.....well since I take all the clips off my knives, I guess I don't have a favorite clip.

I really don't the things, although I recently handled a BM 690 with a spoon shape clip. I kind of like that clip, it might stay on the knife for a day or so at most.

Sebenza clip for me too. It keeps the knife straight up, at the back of my right front pocket. It doesn't look like much, but it works really well. Come to think of it, the whole knife is like that. Doesn't look special until you begin to use it. My best "user" is a small Sebenza.

It's a toss up between my BM 705 and my MT LCC, since they redesigned the weak clip I don't think they have had tose problems any more, and it is VERY tight.

In general, most benchmades and Syderco's I've owned or held always had a nice clip and generally appear strong.

Worst clip I've ever seen IMHO is the MT Mini Socom. Of course, everything else on the knife is first rate.

No question, the clip on the SERE 2000.
It's the most overbuilt thing I've ever seen. That thing will keep the knife in your pocket no matter what.
Definitely not of the minimalist design principle.
I also love the clip on my Sebenza, but no way do I trust it as much as the one on the SERE.

I don't have a hundred knives or anything, but my favorite is the Camillus EDC pocket clip. It grips the pocket beautifully, and rides pretty low. The skeletonized handle and clip actually pinch a spot of your pants into the middle of the clip itself, thus securing the knife.

The CRKT Point Guard has my least favorite pocket clip. My Point Guard fell out of my pocket twice in the first day. It's too bad. The Point Guard is otherwise is very nice knife.

SERE 2000 allows the deepest pocket carry I've seen. Also like the Darrel Ralph clip on my MADD MAXX.

The clip on the 690 looks to be very similar to the clip that Allen Elishewitz uses on his custom pieces. I find that clip to be rather uncomfortable on the hand, a non-issue for myself since I remove the clips from most of my knives as well. Thus I cannot comment on how well the clip works for securing the knife in place, but it sure is a pretty piece of titanium.

As for pretty pieces of titanium, the clips on the William Henry CF line are attractive. Unfortunately, they switched from a tip up to a tip down configuration some time back and you can no longer easily remove them as they are now secured by the pivot pin. I removed the one from my old style Spearpoint and think it would make a nice earring.

This clip allows for the lowest ride that I've seen yet.

The only thing I didn't like was the turned in tip. It made for a slightly difficult pocket insertion. So guess what I did? That's right. I removed the clip and using soft jawed pliers, that I made, bent just the tip up to be inline with the straight portion of the clip. This works great for inserting the knife into the pocket while not interfering with the secure hold that was designed into this clip.

Also, I want to add that while some don't like the fact that this clip is polished, I do.

Clips I like:

Spyderco
Benchmade
Emerson
Outdoor Edge (recessed: Magna & Impulse)
Al Mar
CRKT (except for the Point Guard)

Clips I don't like:

Cold Steel (new metal clips) They're too difficult to clip on your pocket.
