Best pocket knife for $100-150

There's tons of threads regarding this. The best answer is really "It depends."

1)Folding or Fixed?
2)What is your intended use?
3)Are there any specific features you value?

If you answer those three questions, the answers you get will likely be more valuable to you. There are tradeoffs with all knives. Some features make a knife a better slicer, some features make a better piercer, some features make a knife ideal for heavy use at the expense of maintaining a light weight(which is good for an everyday carry) etc etc. The point is that there are tradeoffs here and different knives are designed to do different things well.

In terms of all around, I'd say Spyderco Military without knowing more...

I would have to say the Ontario RAT1 folder. They are very inexpensive, extremely well made and I have been carrying mine off and on all summer truthfully don't have a bad thing to say about it. Way cheaper than what you are looking to spend too. keepem sharp

I'm no guru, but my .02 is with any number of Spyderco (I like the endura) or any number of benchmade (I like the Osborne line). There are so many more though-- those are just what I have experience with.

Spyderco Military, Paramilitary,Sage2 and Manix 2 s90v come to mind.Benchmade has some good stuff too like the Griptilians/ mini griptilians, Skirmish . Rat Cutlery or Scrapyard knives if you're looking for a fixed blade. There's probably more in that price range that are great too.

I second the Spydies, very good price range of knives,.. unless you are asking about slip-joints.

1- Kershaw JYDII CPM-D2
2- Benchmade 551 Grip
3- Benchmade 614 Mini-Rukus
4- Spyderco Military PE
5- Spyderco Paramilitary D2
6- Spyderco Endura Wave

$100-$150??

There are so many good models in that range I am not sure were to start. Spyderco, Benchmade, Lone Wolf, Fallkniven, even some Emerson models fall into that range. Those are just some of the "tactical" knife manufactures that offer one handed operation knives. I am sure that there are several companies in the "traditional" market with models that fall into that range. As the price of the knife is not a direct indication of quality, there are several knives below $100 that are outstanding. They only become more outstanding when you consider just how inexpensive they are to purchase.

I am sorry that I could not recommend a specific knife, but w/out more details on your likes and dislikes it is going to be very hard. Also since you want an EDC knowing you local knife laws will be important.

In the price range you're stipulating, you probably will like a Spyderco of some sort. I like longer blades, and would look for something with a lockback.

Spydercos are well built, light and feature decent blades.

How about an Sg2 JYD? Ti handle, Sg2 laminated blade, fatty frame lock, slices like no other and takes an amazng edge. My favorite EDC is a Blem Sg2 JYD FWIW.
Best deal in the sub $150 range than any other knife I've seen if you can find one. They're far and few between anymore but if you find one I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Give us a couple more details to go on. What are you using it for would be the most helpful.

I definately like the looks of some of the knives that you all have mentioned. If it helps any I will soon be an EMT/Firefighter, so I am looking for a good knife to carry on the job there that will also translate as a carry knife outside of work. Sorry that I wasn't very specific to begin with, maybe this information will help a little bit.

Paramilitary / Military / Endura / Manix 2 are some I'd recommend in that price range, though for Firefighter / EMT I'd take a good look at a RAT Izula or RC-3. Easy enough to carry outside of work, but tough as nails if you need them.

No folding knife will be as strong as a fixed blade, though a XM-18 ($500+) or SMF ($400+) will give them a run if you have the money. :D

Look no further than the Spyderco Military... especially considering TXs knife laws which are very considerate of the most important and diverse Every Day Carry tool any human could carry and be prepared for in day to day possibilities. I'd recommend looking at YouTube reviews of whatever you are considering.

EMT/Firefighter... Why not look into something like the Rescue line from Spyderco. They are generally under $100 from online sources. They can easily serve as daily carries. I believe there is even one with an Emerson Wave.

While it is true they they are all sheep's foot blades so no splinter picking of a Spyderco Military or Para Military how many times do you really pick splinters.

Id say spyderco para mili:
