Best power saw for knife scales?

I've been making some knife handles, and having a pretty good time doing so. I have been using an old scroll saw for curves, and a miter box with a razor saw to make the straight cuts on the scales. I know that it's #FirstWorldProblems, but it gets old not having a power saw that I can easily do the straight cuts on, and get on to the more entertaining aspect of shaping. I have thought about getting a rougher cut saw to just make the cutting go quicker, but worry about damaging some of the handle materials.

Just wondering what would work best? I was thinking a bench top band saw, but would like to hear thoughts. A table saw would be a little close for comfort for my taste given how small some of the pieces I work with tend to be. I know I can make straight cuts on a scroll saw, but I don't have that kind of patience (it belonged to my grandfather, and the knife scales are the first thing I've used it for). Thanks for any thoughts.

POWER SAW !
For little tiny things like knife scales ?
Get better hand saws.
Sharpen said hand saw.
Small hand plane to straighten edges and sides.
No . . . really.

PS: I have two floor model band saws. One for metal one for wood.
I have a Delta bench scroll saw.

I use the hand tools in my links for knife handles.

I'd certainly consider better hand saws. Are there better brands, or is it more about teeth per inch? The saw I'm using right now is just a cheap one that came with the miter box when I bought it. That said it's not in terrible shape for it's age.

I use a deep cut porta band and mount it in a Swag table. Cuts everything from wood to metal. Small portable and works great can't cut as sharp of curves as a Jig saw but all I did was spend time putting new blades on the Jig saw.

I have a well equipped shop for welding, engine building, and misc. woodwork.
But I also have a cheap table top band saw for little things.
Nothing wrong with picking one up at H.F. You'll be able to use it for other things besides cutting out scales.
