Hi!

I'd say the SOCFK, like it a LOT i even once thought that it measured up to my mil-spec commander but boy!, did i make a mistake or what?

I'm now back on the right path and my commander is there with me

Lin -

the reason you can't find 'em is because Extreme Outfitters (www.tacticaledge.com) has an exclusive license from EKI to sell them (I think for a year or two - it's because they helped develop the knife). Talk to Steve.

SOCFK!!!!!!!

No doubt about it. I like them lots better than the Commander, the QC on the SOCFK is much more consistant. The only place to get an SOCFK is Extreme Outfitters www.tacticaledge.com, but their site seems to be down again right now. The SOCFK is kinda like a Lays potato chip - ya can't have just one and not want more and more.

As much as most forumites love their commanders, I have 2 myself. I Love my SOCFK
That would be my choice at least until the "commandair" gets delivered

Hmmmmm

I'd say it's pretty close between the SOFCK and the waved CQC7B. I have to say the edge (pun intended) would go to the SOFCK.

Having said the above, I think the PSARK will be even better.

John

P.S. If they would make a waved I&I, that would win hands down. For that matter if the offered a 4" waved CQC7, that would stomp much ass.

Heyz guys, boy! am I suprised by the comments...seems like the Commander is not the most popular one afterall....
I am now in the midst of discussions with some forum members regarding my acquisition of a SOCFK....due to the comments by you guys...now i have to go find more cash...as I just bought another commander today..I gave my old one away to a friend of mine..
well....SOCFK...hmm..... coolz...

Why doesn't Mr Emerson make a production "SUPERCHARGED" folder...meaning a bigger folder, something like a SIFU in size...I would love that, something along the lines of a stretched commander...that would really be sexy looking...it would create a knife with plenty of curves, and a slim body profile.
I would love a "waved" folder with a blade length of 5"-6"...
just my .22 cents

Well, I have to admit I love my SOCFK (especially now that Kevin's worked on it)!

I too think it's probably the best EKI knife of 2000-2001 (until, of course, the PSARK comes out, and the mini-Commander... then I may have to reevaluate).

My opinion only - (I would never dream about speaking for Ernie), I personally would love a very large folder. But . . .

Everyone uses the Sifu as an example of a success story for HUGE folders. I live in a state where size is no object when it comes to carry knives. I could carry a sword if I could conceal the thing. I also tend to run in crowds, LE and Civilian, that carry defensive oriented knives. Never, not once, have I EVER seen ANYONE carry a Sifu. I see Emerson, Ryan, Elishewitz, Microtech, Buck, Gerber, Spyderco, Benchmade, Cold Steel, CRK&T, ect. But NEVER have I seen someone carry a Sifu.

I'll go you one better. A buddy of mine is a knife dealer. He bought three Sifus for resale. He had them for close to a year and couldn't sell them. He put them on sale, no bites. He tryed to sell them for his cost (he was even willing to eat the shipping), no sales. I even mentioned them here on the forums, nothin'.

He did finally end up getting rid of them. He sold two to the same guy, loosing money on the deal and I think he gave the third away as a door prize.

My point being that there is a small market (me being part of it) for huge folders, but once those people have them, what do you do?

John, I get your point...
another thing that puzzles me is to why Emerson Custom knives are so limited(USERS)...
some examples of what I mean are like the cqc-9 eagle, and the rhino.
from what I heard, both of these knives were designed with the military operators in mind, in that case, why make them so exclusive??

I heard that only 11 or so cqc-9 eagles were made, and if they were meant for the military operators, why not make the cqc-9 and the rhino in the same category as the SOCFK?
limited? yes, pricing? reasonable.

maybe you feel that I am feeling a bit sour towards Emerson, but no I am not...heehee..I am just quite upset because I like his knives, but they are always so hard to find...
