Hello all, I am new to the forum, I recently took back up axe/hatchet/hawk/knife throwing, as an exercise for my back & my broken old body in general.. Because I remebered how fun it was to stick an axe, from my childhood.. (a faux trapper/old timer) taught our boyscout troop how to throw hawks & double bilt throwing axes over several days at a camping deal.
anywho...
I have a mid-sized estwing axe that we (me & my son) throw ,.. & I just bought a cheap $10 hatchet with fiberglass handle that actually throws/sticks awesome today (after I sharpened the bejeesus out of it).. ludell brand or somethign like that.. yellow handle.. blah
... to the point. I REALLY want a francisca soon.. as opposed to a hawk.. the francisca just seems like a better design for throwing to me,.. are they harder to throw since they have no poll ?
who makes the best francisca? many i've seen look like the head is on upside down.. I must have one with the upward sweep like a true francisca..
anyways, I think thats gonna be my next throwing purchase.. & then I'm gonna save up for a double-bilt Gransfors Bruks Competition Throwing Axe.
(any throwers here have one of these? worth the price?)
any comments/suggestions ? I've seen 3 places that manufacture franciscas that I might buy.. guess I'll provide those links:
