What is the best quote you've heard.

You are where you should be.
You are doing what you should be doing.
Otherwise;
You would be somewhere else,
doing something else.

I heard that quote when I was studying Taoism, and it seemed to sum up the philosophy pretty simply.

H.L. Mencken – Man is never honestly the fatalist, nor even the stoic. He fights his fate, often desperately. He is forever entering bold exceptions to the rulings of the bench of gods. This fighting, no doubt, makes for human progress, for it favors the strong and the brave. It also makes for beauty, for lesser men try to escape from a hopeless and intolerable world by creating a more lovely one of their own.

I'll teach you to run this place and I'll teach it to you right now: It's more important to listen than to talk. You'll never make the grade unless you're decisive; a timely wrong decision is better than no decision at all. And don't just half-heartedly wound problems; kill 'em dead!

The Halide 914 has no place in the modern office.
-- IBM Internal Report to the Board of Directors recommending that IBM decline Halide Corporation's offer to sell IBM its Model 914 product and related technologies and patents. The report, shared with Halide management, shook Halide's confidence such that while they decided to go ahead and bring their 914 product to market by themselves, they also decided not to risk soiling the Halide name with a possible flop. They decided to bring the 914 to market under a new name. Halide went on to sell over 35 million Xerox 914 photocopiers. IBM was, nevertheless, correct in its conclusion. The Halide 914 had no place in the modern office which centered around IBM dictating machines and IBM typewriters. The Halide 914 in just a few years transformed the modern office into the post-modern office centered around Xerox photocopiers.
