Yesterday was awesome! I went herping with a friend and we found 20 species in one day! that's a new personal record for me. Here are some of the animals we found along our hike.

We started our hike at a small pond and before we reached it there was a group of cricket frogs calling. They were out by the hundreds. They come in several colors, here are a green one and a grey one. The red ones are my favorite but we didn't see any of them.

Next we saw some Green Frogs, Pickerel Frogs, and Bull Frogs but didn't bother to take any pics since they are so common.

We started down the trail and came across some Fowler's toads. This is one of the nicer looking ones.

This Black Racer was only four feet off the trail

While turning logs, we found a bunch of Worm Snakes, including the two babies in the last pic

In a small vernal area we found some Spotted salamander eggs

We saw many lizards including Five Lined Skinks (top three pics), Eastern Fence lizards (next two pics) and a Broad Headed Skink that was about 10.5in long (last pic).

We walked out to a swampy area and saw a Stinkpot Turtle basking but he jumped in and got away

On the way out we came across a spotted turtle. This pic is not the one we got yesterday because the guy I was with is the one who took pics of that one and he has not sent that pic to me

The last snake we found was a group of N. Watersnakes. I grabbed one expecting to get bit (they are very prone to bite) but she just let me hold her for some pics. Her eyes were capped so she was about to shed.
