i think i might start carrying a rescue..multi purpose rescue... knife to try it out for edc for a while ...i know there will be some good feedback from yall...thx/paul

I EDC a MOD CQD most of the time , the seat belt cutter is real handy for most of the cutting I do , I like the glass breaker all so . It is a heavy duty knife and weigh's alot.:D

Either the Spyderco Rescue 93mm or Atlantic Salt.

If you are looking for a serrated edge, I would suggest the Atlantic Salt (available with black or yellow handles). For a plain edge, I would suggest the Rescue...unless you need something plain edged and rust proof, then get a plain edged Atlantic Salt.

One of my only 3 remaining edc folders is a fully serrated yellow atlantic salt. I like it very much but if you want plain edge then I second the advice to go with one of the vg10 spyderco rescue models.

Back in my EMT days, I actually had great luck with an Emerson P-Sark, especially once I raised the edge up to twenty five degrees. And yes, I said "P" as in "Pointy" it technically had a point, but...not a significant one. You'd really have to screw up BADLY to get anyone with it. It was really never a problem for me when cutting seatbelts and such. Was still nice to have for chipping ice and the other 97% of normal cutting tasks. Also made me feel better about having the knife if a defensive situation should arise, Mall Ninja that I am....:p

Iteresting thread. I have been thinking about picking up one of these "Rescue knives" to keep in the car.
