All,

Do you find that custom knives that have a lower price point are easier to resell at a profit / no loss, or is it those at a high price point? (All things being equal of course.)

Edited to say: This is meant to be a custom knives focused thread only. Thanks.

I haven't seen it make a difference in my experience in terms of buying and re-selling. It really depends on who's hot and who's not.

Trading seems to be a different story. Get the right knife (usually at a higher price point), and it is often fairly easy to "trade down" into multiples that can be resold for a higher value than you could have sold the one knife for. Takes a bit of work, so you have to have the time.

Seems folks are willing to give you more value in less expensive knives rather than taking the trouble to just sell them off in the first place themselves.

Let me put it into a collectible Barbie reference, my sister in law bought a barbie and spent $300 for 1994 Gold Jubilee Barbie
, I saw a 1988 Olympic Barbie Doll Skating Star MIB
at a yard sale in the box for a $1, I just sold mine for $15, She sold hers for $310,(needed the money), who made out?

Sometimes if your lookin' for profit the 199 piece knife collection for $200 will make you more money than buying and selling a custom.

But if your into quality knives, than your probably not lookin' to get rich buying and selling knives.
