AO Safety is good. I like the over-the-glasses type plastic goggles.

I wear a Trend "Air Shield",but if I replaced it I would go with a belt mounted filter and fan.The face shield is tough on most full hood units.

John,these are the people that i buy my glasses from,good prices and service
i use the Pyramex Ztek glasses,they are cheap but most of all they fit my face well,and i dont take them off like i tend to do if they dont fit good,i usualy buy several pair at the time,for back up and visitors, Tracy

I just bought a 3M model 7800 full face respirator (off the makers for sale area right here.) For the first time since I started making knives, I feel truly protected. Good seal, full coverage, comfortable and I can actually see well through it. I'm buying one for my wife as well.

I've been using a Wilson MX/PF 9500 Series Respirator for several years. It can be had with different type of screw on filters and can us a prefilter to get the big stuff. I have a beard and mustache and it seals good.The only place that I've found to get them is from Zee Medical. www.zeemedical.com

I used to sell dental safety glasses and we carried Gargoyles. I heard a pitch from the wholesale rep pushing them that they would stop a 22 LR shot. None of us believed it really and I jokingly told him that if it stopped a 22 as he said that I'd sell more of them than anyone if he let me use the glasses I shot up as a demo.
We were at the lake for a sales meeting anyway so we took them outside and I surprised him when I pulled out my 22 NAA pistol because I had it on me. (I always have it on me) I laid them in front of a dirt mound for backing and shot them. Sure enough it didn't go all the way through. So I not only sold a $hit load of them for the guy I bought some for me as well.
As for respirators. The one I wear the most is the Advantage 200LS. I bought two when I got the ones I have because both came highly recommended and I figured I would be able to look them over and send the one I didn't like back. I never did though and still have it new in the bag. It is a 3M 6200. I have never really worn the 3M model I bought but it is supposed to be a good one also.
