Recently I have been looking on-line at numerous websites that sell relatively descent copies of Samarai Swords. Some of them appear to be quite well made, from Folded L-6 tool steels, to traditional tamahagani iron; having differentially tempered edge hardness of 60rc and spines of 40rc. With that said, who makes the absolute best Samarai Sword for under 2 grand? Granted, there are guys in japan that can make an absolutely genuine Samarai for a cost of upwards of 20K, but lets be reasonable.

Paul Chen (Hanwei) have released some L6 and tamaghane swords...could be worth a look.

In that price range I assume you are in the market for one of the various chitanas currently to be found everywhere. Were it me I would probably purchase from www.bugei.com. They carry Chen products but since they are actual martial artists and have special deals worked out with Hanwei they are my first choice in that genre.

I sold a cold steel dragonfly to a sword fighting instructor. They list for 899.00. { I gave him a good deal since I work with his brother. } He has had it about 2 months now and he is very happy with it. I have requested feedback if he has any problems; so far not.
