Hey all. I know the scandi grind isn't the best profile for many hunting tasks but I have really grown to love the grind. So just that - post up your best scandi hunting knife.

I think you would like Enzo knives. Several fixed blade configurations to choose from and very well made Finnish knives. Brad Jarvis usually has a good variety in stock. I also like Ahti knives (Finnish) from Ragweed ( I carry the Ahti Metsa backpacking). Just Google Scandinavian or Finnish knives to find them (don't want to break to linking rules).

I think the best one I know of, simply based on the design and research, would be the Jessmuk, or Jessmuk companion for something smaller, from LT Wright, designed by Chris Tanner. It has a lot of cool stuff going on.

The only one I've had that I think would make a decent hunting knife is basically a kepart design with a scandi.

And while this isn't necessarily a scandi (I think), it is a puukko (2nd from bottom) and somewhat similar. It is a rhomboid grind from Jelio and it does pretty much act like a scandi. I think the kellam puukko I used to have would have been pretty solid as well, no pictures of that one.

Any LT Wright with a decent belly will serve you well. Seems like he has had an explosion of models in the past couple years, so guessing there is something that will fit right into the role you are looking for.

Bikerector is probably right on the Jessmuk being your best bet for belly + scandi.

So that you don't have to dig up pics of the jessmuk, and because I don't mind looking at it. It's one that has been on my watch list for a year or two now, but I really have been trying to get a deal on a used one. Prices simply haven't been favorable for how much I might actually use it, since I don't hunt like I used to.

Picture from DLT Trading... such a sexy sweep on that blade. I think it's the only knife I know, besides an actual ULU, that has more edge length than the actual blade length (edge length follows the arc, blade length is straight)
