A couple of years ago I was hitting some of the local garage sales and I've made it a habit to ask for certain things that I don't see. Things like old archery equipment, fountain pens, old fishing equipment and Knives. Well, I hit this one sale and it was mostly junk so I asked my usual questions and the guy walks in and a few minutes later he comes out with a handful of pocket knives. A couple of old Case folders, two old kabar folders and an original Marbles Safety Hunter with 4" blade and in very very good condition. I was trying my best not to stutter and drool when I asked how much. His response was, "I'll let you have em all for $50.00":D, Wish I had kept the Marbles, but sold it for almost 700.00.;)

Well, recently I have picked up a bolo for about 15 dollars, the edge needed a lot of work, but I got it back to shaving sharp. Other than that, I just run into cheap junk.

I have been in a bit of a slump when looking for knives.

It's been a long while since I made my last score.
I paid $1.00 for a J.A. Henckels integral bolster 8" carver.:D That was over a year ago. I need to get out and hit those Thrift Stores and garage sales!

Just recently I scored a couple sets of axis antlers, and a nice set of Elk horns for $10.00. These horns are going to make some nice knife handles.

I did not get these at a rummage sale, I was standing in my local gunshop after a morning of unproductive looking for goodies at rummage sales when a guy come in and wanted to know if anyone wanted to buy some old knives. I got a Western W49-D Bowie and a Western L46-8 both of them for 30 bucks(20 for the bowie and 10 for the L46-8),both were like new never been sharpened but you could tell they have been laying around a while. My buddy who works there also bought a Western Bowie and a L46-8 for the same price and the owner bought the last Bowie he had for 20 bucks. That was close enough to rummage sale prices to me.:D :D Jim
