not to want to advertise for them but am wanting your collective thoughts as to sites you guys use or recommend
asking as once I used photo bucket but it does not work like it used to :(

using imgur nowadays or the photo space i have here being a paid member.

Good to have you back, Dave, I use the 'Upload a File' here. Also, ImgZeit, which allows third party hosting. Preston

Hi Brother Dave,

Good to see you here again. I still save my photo's to Photobucket as it has already been setup to resize my photo's to post. I then save them from Photobucket to my home PC and then drop them here from my PC.

Who knows if one of the other photo linking sites will do the same thing as Photobucket and all data will be lost again.

I just got on the forum here--paid member...I take the pictures on my camera vga-email size-load on my computer-and click on upload a file right here on this page--never a problem-easy as can be-no paid third party-works perfect if ya take the pics on yer camera the right size...

Howdy Dave, nice to see you here:):):)

I use the upload. But it's crazy with the resizing. I installed a second camera app that makes small size pictures. But the other photos I have to resize. it's a hard job with the smart phone.

Is this the real Decaf Dave talking?
He sounds like he's calmed down some.
I use Imgur sometimes and the "upload a file" that lets me load direct from my computer sometimes.
You have to be a paid member to use the "upload a file" here and there's a limit as to how many times you can use it. Don't know that anybody's said they hit the limit yet.
You also have to downsize your picture to around 800kb. You have a choice below to use a thumbnail or you can do a big one like this:

Can't you change the settings on your camera instead of changing the size of the picture.?

Postimage.org is the best easiest there is, and because it's a .org it has minimal adds and is not a social media sites.
Plus you won't have any issues with people being able to see you're pictures if they aren't signed up for it ( something you don't even have to do to use it ) like can happen with flickr, tumblr, or imgur,

Thank you, Makael, that could be the way to go. But when I take a picture I want to have it in high resolution. That bewares the need to take a second photo when I need the picture in high resolution. But on the other side, that makes it necessary to downsize the photo for the forum. Most easy would be to raise the limits.

Dogpounds photos are set by his camera. I think they look great

I have my camera set to 1m just above vga email size--I not an expert so not sure what those number mean-duh....using sony 5.1 megapixel camera since 2004--funny huh.....I think my pictures have fairly good resolution...and no problem---never have to resize--they load right here on the forum --just click on full size image and they load simple immediately on the bay for me also--never any problem...

It's a good idea to have your camera set to the highest resolution in case you need it.

It's not that hard to downsize it in your computer and Imgur will resize it for you when you send it to them.

They have a simple method to request downsizing on each pic you upload to them.

on my camera --1 button and 3 clicks gives me the highest resolution possible---that is quick and easy too...

I like the simplicity of loading pictures right onto the forum or elsewhere with the 1 click feature upload a file--easy...no problems..
