Ok, I have a few big blades, and I'm getting the feeling I need a smaller one for carving, food prep, etc. You know, all the smaller jobs. I have been looking at Mora knives, and I was wondering, which one should I get? Or do you know of other small blades that are better for the price? thanks guys- josh.

Depending on how "Small" you are talking about I really like the ESEE IZULA!

moras do quite well for what your asking, are you specifically looking for fixed? or would a folder do well enough for you as well

The Boker/Krein Pocket Bowie is an amazing little knife for the price. G-10 scales, 2 1/2" 440C blade, Overall length - 5 3/4", Weight - 2.2 oz ($26.95)

It's tough...tough to beat one of the minis that Bark River makes: mini-Canadian, mikro-Canadian, Pro Scalpel, Bird and Trout, even the Pro-Caper's pretty small and nice, and several others.

at their price-point, there is no better blade than a Mora.

you have to start spending a fair bit more to REALLY get a lot more knife.

i like the simple mora clippers myself.

If you really want to do wood carving on the scale of spoon, walking sticks, wood spirits, etc - you need a Mora 120. For the money, even if you need something else - you also need a 120.

Most of the carving I do is roughed out with a BK11, then finished with a plain Opinel folder and a mora 120.
