What do you feel is the best Spyderco for whittling type tasks?

I've used a Delica 4, Native S60V and S30V and a CE Manix. Out of those, the Manix did the best job. For such a big, sturdy knife, the edge comes pretty thin and the flat grind is superb.

I would say a wharncliffe (sp?) type blade would work best. Like the kiwi. But I cannot say. I do not have one.

Well, I spose it depends on what your whittling. I'd use a Manix for a wooden Indian and a ZDP Jess Horn for a dog whistle.

Not a Whittler, but I would think the Calypso Jr. Nice flat grind, and a choil so you can choke up on the blade.

Looking at photos, the dragonfly did look very good for this. I'm currently negotiating a trade for one, so if I receive it I'll let you folks know how it works out for me.

I whittle soft wood a lot. I like the VG10 Calypso JR and the Salt 1.
I modified the Salt 1's blade a little (made it a little pointy) and the H1 zips thru the wood like crazy. The best part is H1 sharpens so very easy.
