Best SRM model

Beware the Chinese Knockoff Knife Firestorm!

I thought about getting one of those knives they make that look suspiciously like a Hinderer XM-18, but then I got a Cryo instead.

I don't have any SRM anymore, sold them off so others could enjoy them, but I still have a Navy K631s at hand for dirty jobs, does quite well especially waved.

Pure nonsense, plain and simple.

721 Wharncliffe was my first and is my most carried. The H02 slipjoint is a close second.

still junk, i'm sorry but these knives are crap. this is just reality. None of these will hold water to my SnG CC or my SMF, which are my two most carried.

Let me guess... you've never actually owned a SRM...

Sorry, dude, but you're reality is a fabrication. You did earned bragging rights when laid out the $$$ for those Striders, though. That's something Sanrenmu doesn't sell.

Thanks to the infinite wisdom of severe dumbs, it looks like this thread is headed to W&C...

I only have one Sanrenmu, a 710, and I'm not a fan of it. I have a Ganzo G704 that I'm extremely impressed with, though.

To the OP: if you like a lot of reading, check out this thread:

In my own opinion, SRM as well as Enlan fabricate several knives that are a very good value for EDC purposes.
You usually get the typical 8cr-type steels so when making a choice among knives of these brands, you should not take steel type into account.
Further on, it mostly comes down to personal preference. What is it that you want? Do you want a larger folder, then you'll probably end up choosing a knife within the Enlan catalogue. Smaller folders can be found with SRM.

I've got personal experiences with the Enlan EL-02, SRM-710, SRM 763 and SRM 738.
For what I usually use my edc folders, I don't see why any of these knives would not fit the bill.

The SRM-710 has already shown why it's so popular. It's a small, smooth and functional little knife.
The same goes for the 763, although it's even smoother than the 710. The looks on this one are quite different, so yet again, it comes down to personal preference.
The 738 is a bit more classy, but quite heavy for the small knife it is as well. I do tend to carry this one the least, not sure why though.

The Enlan EL02 is larger and gets a lot of pocket with me. The axis lock is a bit stiff to operate (in comparison to the 763 and for example a Benchmade griptilian), but that doesn't bother me anyway.
I've heard good things about the EL01 and its spin-offs as well.

I don't think I prefer these Chinese made and Chinese branded knives over Western desgined yet Chinese made knives or vice versa.
As far as the steel goes, it's usually all 8cr or something related, so it boils down to preferences anyway. Do you want to give 20USD more because it's a USA design? Sure, go ahead, I've done the same thing with my Cryo and Tenacious. Did I buy these because I thought they were worth the higher price point, because they might be better value or because then I'd support a USA company? Nope, I bought them because I thought I'd like them and I did. Are they worth 20USD more than the Enlan or SRM knives? Actually, I don't care because I like all of them.

In short: buy whatever you want and whatever you think will make you happy for a little while (until you absolutely have to get that new knife:D). You can't really go wrong with the top advocated SRM and Enlan knives (being the 710, 763, EL01 and EL02), but you can't go wrong with a budget folder from Spyderco, Kershaw,... either.

Severedthumbs: I'm not actually sure what you're trying to prove in a thread where the OP clearly would like advice on a budget folder?
When I want to buy a Mitsubishi Colt, I don't want the car salesman to tell me: but hey look at this Abrams tank right here, it's f$k'n great but ow yeah it costs quite a lot and it's not legal to drive in most the world.

I dont have any of the obvious copy models, but i have about six different models. Sanrenmu, bee, enlan, and inron. I like them all. The only issue i have is my bee el-01 has a uneven grind. All the others are fine. For $14 what do ya excpect:) The 710 is a classic for $6.
