I ask the sword makers or users around here what do you think is the best alaround steel for a sword . I think about some (3v , a2 ,5160 ) but whant your opinion .

I was thinking at a tipe of sword that was used by my acesters ,dacians is called sica ,it looks like a scythe but the question is available for all long swords and the most important thing for a sword is to not brake on you

If the steel is forged correctly and heat treated correctly, then it should not break easily. This applies to the 10xx steels as well as the 51xx series of steels. I have read posts that say that s7 is a good shock resistant steel. I am sure there are others.

I don't personally believe that there is any "best steel" and certainly for most users they won't be able to tell a dimes worth of difference between any competently heat treated carbon steel blade. Find a smith that wants to make your sword for you (not many folks making sica, falx or rhompeiaa) and ask him what he is most comfortable with and go with that. This is the forumula most likely to provide you with the best results.
