Hello-
I was just wondering what people thought the best steel was for serrations and why? (fully serrated blades) I was thinking mainly limited to the different blades in Spyderco knives, but if you have s steel that you really like in fully serrated you can go ahead and say that also.

Hi Mmtmatrix. We've made serrations on all of the steels that we have used in production. Any of them make a good serration if the serration is made properly. The actual design of the model would be important to your likes, but any with teeth, IMO, that we make will serve you well.

Thanks Sal, I appreciate the help. I was somewhat interested to see what people preferred, but maybe that's not the question to ask. Do people like hard steels, AUS-10 over 6 (or 8), what about VG-10, and ATS-55, etc.? Or is it not the biggest factor that you decided on? I know a bit about steels but was not sure how people felt about them on serrations. (and how different ones perform in serrated blades)

Thanks,
mmtmatrix
