Who produces the best quality stockman? Either the blade material is ok, but the handle is delrin or some other plastic, or the handle is wood or stag, but the blade is low end.

Greetings Thomas, I agree... I see lots of knives where I like the handle or the blade, but few with both. One possible answer to your dilemna is the new Queen D2 knives. I have both the cocobolo and the stag-bone stockmans. Both are aesthetically beautiful knives with D2 blade steel! I have found the D2 a little difficult to resharpen, but that is because I am still a neophyte in the sharpening department. Give them a try. I found mine through Empire Knives. I got very quick service through them. I'm sorry that I can't give you their email address right this instant, but search through the other Queen D2 threads here, and you will find it.
Happy Hunting, Mongo

Thomas, I forgot my P.S., I really like my Camillus carbon series stockman. If you can get past the Delrin handles jigged and colored to kinda sorta look like stag.... it is a wonderful little knife. It has 1095 steel which I just put a wicked edge on all 3 blades today with my brand new Norton fine/medium stone. All in all, a nice little knife for about $18-$20 at www.discountknives.com That's where I found mine, may be elsewhere too.

In a word, Bulldog!
Go to NDS for a great selection.
I purchased a BD-113 a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier.
It's a beaut in all catagories. The only other slipjoints in my collection that come close are the Mooremakers and my new Queen D2 Trapper in Cocobolo. Now that's a beautiful knife. But one I will not use. For using, I'm waiting for the Queen Small Stockman, D2, in Jigged Stag Bone. Can't wait to compare it to the Bulldog.

Why oh why aren't you going to use your Queen's? They are wonderful knives; the walk n' talk is great, the blades are phenomenal, and they look great. People have complimented me on these knives. Tis a shame to not use them. However, if you do decide to sell them, you definately will not have any trouble. Give them a try....
Being pushy, Mongo

I could be wrong, but I think Browning has some traditionals available with wood scales and AUS-8 steel.

Good luck,'
Allen.

Mongo,
Read my post again carefully.
My Trappers go in a box for safekeeping
For users, I prefer the Stockman.
I've got a Queen 26CSB on the way as I type.
This will be my EDC, trading places with the Bulldog.
Wonder which I'll like better!?!
Lenny

Sorry Lenny, didn't mean to tread on you. Glad to hear you will be using your stockman. Queen makes a beauty. I have two, and they are in my EDC rotation also. I find myself carrying only a stockman and my leatherman wave as my EDC's. I figure between these two, there isn't anything I can handle on the spur of the moment.
Have a good one, Mongo

I'm kinda fond of my Hen & Rooster stockman with carbon steel blades and stag handles. Blades take and hold a very nice edge and are turning that cool blue color that your Grandfather's pocketknife had.

While they have already been mentioned Queen makes several
of the finest knife lines you will find anywhere for the money.

They make Robeson, Schratt & Morgan & Queen. As fancy knives
go they are without peer in American made slipjoint knives.

Just to toss in my experience with the Brownings that Allen mentioned...they (Browning) do make some nice traditional slip joints. They use AUS8 and rosewood a lot. However, even their supposedly "user" knives (as opposed to "presentation") most of you will probably find are still way too pretty to beat up!! :)
