I agree with Steven, there isn't any magical art to it. There are some techniques that can make it look better. Whether you are wanting a light or a nice dark finish.
That finish is one of my favorites, because my knives are designed for use, this type of finish wears nicely with use and time.
Plus, I think there are plenty of shiny blades being made out there, I want to offer something different.
There are lots of makers out there offering acid washed finishes, I am just the only one stupid enough to post acid washed knives on this forum full of fantastically hand finished and shiny blades.
