  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Far and away the best way to strop a blade particularly for fine wood carving in dense wood and obstinate grain is using a set of Micro Mesh pads. I’ve been using these for over 20 years and have yet to wear them out. I cane go all the way to 12,000 grit if necessary and usually start at 3,200 with when the blade is reasonably sharp to start with. These pads can also be used polish up wood before and after finishing. I seldom reach for anything else.

seems to make sense. i dont like to strop very lightly so a foam pad wouldnt work well for me. as per my experience. otherwise they look like they would work well of course but ymmv.
