Best Sword Defense.

I'm sure everyone has heard how that scene really came about. It wasn't scripted but they liked it so well they left it in.

that's the short version, bawanna: the day they shot the scene he had a very bad tummy upset, fever, felt horrible, they browbeat him into doing the scene which involved a drawn out fight, he knew he could'nt do it all so he improvised & history was made. he retired to bed for a few days. if you look at the scene, he is tired, sweating from the fever, not from the chase scenes just before that he'd done without mussing his makeup or hairdoo.

p.s. - egypt is a great place to visit, just don't drink the water, that includes soft drinks with ice. or you may also get a dose of indy belly. (don't remind me how i know)

Yeah, I knew that, figured it was common knowledge by now but I still enjoyed reading it again.

I never been east of Missouri and we got big water directly to the west so no chance of running into me in Egypt or any other foreign country.

Yeah, if Mr. Twirly-Twirl hadn't done his twirly-twirl with the sword and had just attacked, how different things would have been.

yeah, i suspect he was inside that vital 7 yards where Indy would not have had time to draw and aim, fire effectively, even if he did the swordsman would have had time to neatly bifurcate him before he died - a head shot would likely have not been possible and a body shot might not have killed quickly enough.

i remember my first juijitsu lesson, the sensei told us the most effective self defence if confronted was

Best defense from your example Kron would seem to be "shall thou count to three, no more, no less" IIRC. But finding a holy hand grenade of Antioch MIGHT be a bit of a challenge these days...

I believe the Black Knight could have escaped nothing but a flesh wound if he'd heeded either of yours advise.

as well as the killer rabbit scene.

..and in a final twist of cruel fate, when they reach the grail castle by boat,
it turns out it's the back side of the french castle and taunted again they, this time, walk away
covered in liquid manure. thus endeth the quest.

but in real life, english king henry V, running away from the mighty french army of 36000, his 6000 men sick, starving and disheartened,
finally couldn't go on anymore, so the turned and faced their fate on 25 Octiber 1415 near azincourt.
this time the french however were the ones doing the running away.
