I've seen a lot of expensive custom fixed blades out there. Many are no better than the less expensives ones. They are usually of pretty simple design and often ridiculously expensive.
I just wanted to throw my .02 in, and get a thread started on what everyone thinks are high quality custom tactical knives, with an affordable price tag.
1) Greg Covington combat special. - forged and differentially tempered. (I have 2 of them, and they feel very good in the hand)
2) Larry Harley's Battle Bowies. An amazing deal at under $500. Not forged, but if since it has Larry's name on it, I'm sure it's more than capable. He told me that he hasn't changed the price in 20 years! (but I guess he will increasing it pretty soon)
(I've only handled the Paragon model, but I've got one on order.)
He uses these for his boar hunts, so they'd better be made right!

Ummm,

so just what are you selling? This is the for sale forum.

Edit: Reported...let it die guys so glockman doesn't get p.o.ed.:)

I guess this thread is meant to be in General Knife Discussion: Custom & Handmade Knives. Sometimes we might make the same mistake. Moderator can always correct it by removing it to the correct place. Isn't it?

Is the question what is the best tactical custom for the money, or the best production tactical for the money, because the two will be totally different, and the price gap will be huge. I think you can get a production knife that will be just as rugged as a custom for a lot less money. If you are talking Busse, or other high end production then you can get into customs for that price.

I think Bobby Branton's tactical fixed blade knives offer tremendous value.

I am with Keith on this and would add Geno Denning.

The best part is not only are the knives great, but these two are a pleasure to get to know.

I reported this thread myself, as I realized my mistake immediately after I posted it.
I meant to post in the Custom Knives sections, and I requested that it move there. Oh well.

I know...I'm a retard :D...I ment to move it to "custom", but since the title of this thread had nothing to do with custom knives, it threw me....

But at-least I didn't issue you an infraction for posting in the wrong forum, just a warning, which carries no "points" against you.
