Best Tactical pen I've found so far (review)

I've wanted to get a tactial pen, but the big price, overly tactical look and screw off caps have always kept me away from them. Then I came across this United Cutlery pen which meets all of those criteria. You can't go wrong for $17, even if you lose it.

I made a little review of it.

That has been one of my favorite pens. I like the twisty design - it makes it very easy to use. I think the design looks really nice, and it is comfortable to hold. I did wind up swapping in a Parker refill because the original one left a bit to be desired. I would prefer a clip that slips over the pocket fabric a bit more smoothly, like the tufwriter does but the United clip is as good as the ones on many other tactical pens. For the price I don't think there is anything that can come anywhere close to competing with it.

I agree on the cartridge. Its adequate, but I guess I didn't buy the pen for its writing quality. :) I'll probably swap it out too. The Tufwriter looks like a great pen as well, although they start getting up there in price.

The UZI pen is similar to that one. Though the sharp crown on the UZI does snag on clothing. I've heard good things about that pen.

does the body of the pen seem like it could hold up to light prying tasks? or forces that are not asked of normal pens?

I think the aluminum is fairly sturdy, certainly more than most pens, although I'm not sure how much force it would take all together.

I have a CUMA RAM tactical pen that I've used for two years now. It is a bit pricey at $100 but it has held up well. It has a break away cap with lanyard hole and screw on cap with clip. Also it is very comfortable to write with. Uses hauser or fisher space pen refills. In my opinion it's one of the best tactical pens out there.

I have a Kunai Tactical Pen and it just blows people away who I have let handle it. But at $225 now, it's not for everyone. Fun though....
Cheers.

If I am spending over $100 on a pen it will be a fountain pen. I'm a fan of Pelikan in particular. :)
But, I do enjoy various types of pen, and do own several "tactical" pens. . I even have a stainless embassy elite pen being delivered this coming Thursday from Countycomm. Fisher is another pen manufacturer I enjoy collecting, owning, and using.

Thanks for the video review.
