ok im new here i got 140 dollars what the best or sharpest, longest lasting, most durable TANTO bladed knife i can also must be a folder i can carry and not bulge to bad

Emerson CQC7B, your choice on which size ( regular or mini) and if you want the wave or not.

From the folders I have, the Buck Mini Strider is probably the toughest. The large one probably would buldge too much. The Cold Steel Voyagers seem the sharpest but also the hardest to sharpen. The Columbia River M-16 series is pretty good if you get the ones in AUS8. Overall I carry my Emerson CQC-7B in the city and my Buck Mini Strider in the woods. The secondary edge on the strider is not sharp and is more for prying than cutting. The Emerson has the smoothest opening. IMO any of these knives would work well.

I know there are many people who don't like Cold Steel, but a Cold Steel Medium Voyager Tanto point is my EDC.

CQC7-B

You have an awsome knife, a great warrenty and super people who work at the company. I actually lost a piece to my CQC7 and called told them i lost the piece it was my fault and wanted to buy a new piece and a few spares and the sent me out what i needed plus 2 spares for free.

I had the exact same situation with my Benchmade 722 tanto a few weeks ago and when i told them i lost the washer between the blade and liner they wanted me to send the knife in and pay $1 for the washer and $10 for putting it back together. I laughed at them and put the knife in a drawer, went to the gun store around the block and picked up my baby, The CQC7-b plain edge silver finish. Until I lost the washer it hadn't been more than 6 feet away from me.

I own an emerson cqc7bbt its great, i used to own a benchmade 722 axis and sold it. Go with the CQC7, check the trade section you may be able to find a deal on one.

I'd check out the Spyderco C46 Bob Lum Tanto. ATS-55 w/ G-10 scales. The older ones had titanium scales - very nice if you can find one.

VW -- the FB03 won't work since one of the requirements is that it fold.

Glasshartt, may still have one or have acess to one. You should give her a call on the Ti Lum tanto.

Lum tanto RAWKS!!!!!

SOG Vision series are also good and tanto-ish and there are still some plain edges left if ye dont like serrations.

The newer Lum Tantos from spyderco had VG-10 in them, which is way better than the ATS-55

the FB03 mat not fold, but it's small enough not to be offensve or in the way...

the C46 Tanto is a supurb knife on it's own, either handle type... I know where to get the Ti handled ones still, but they are rare. Beautiful none the less, regardless of the straight design.

I have both an EKI CQC7B and a BM 722 that have served me well so far. Love the Emerson but I find it harder to sharpen than my 722.
The handle is a bit longer on the CQC7 so it fits my hand better and feels more natural.

One thing I like about the 722 though is the genetic locking bias on the axis lock. Makes me feel more comfortable carrying it IWB or SOB. Actually had my CQC7 open on me slightly when I was carrying it SOB and it bit me.

Both have their good and bad but I think in the end if I had to choose one it would be the Emerson.

Well, you can get a SOG Vision for $150, or the X-Ray Vision for about $80-$90. Both very nice, hollow ground, ATS-34. And I believe the best lock around, along with the axis from BM.
