Hey guys. So I was looking at tomahawks, and I want something light and fast but still heavy enough to get the job done. I also want it to be wield-able in one hand and usable in a combative role. Want to keep it in my car. I had looked at 2 hawks but at 14" they seemed a tad short. It's my first hawk so I'd like to keep it under 150. Thanks.

Do you have to design it or does he have pre made designs? Also how long did it take to get yours?

Mine is a new "standard model." He has many other designs. I think he'll use your design too (correct me if I'm wrong, Kentucky). I told him I wanted one on the 21st. I got it today, the 25th! But I think he already had it made.

Nice. I can't find any designs on his site, so I don't know where to go look. Definitely a company to consider. Sent an email.

Dang, I'm striking out....it works for me...what's up with that...

No clue there bud. If I go for one I'd want one around 20 inches or so (unless 18" is better for design[also want to be able to throw it occasionally for fun]) and maybe a nordic design. Definitely want to have a hammer on back if I can for weapon and practical purposes

Other then one of Kentuky's hawks (which I would recommend), take a look at Fort Turner. I have a Hammer Poll Camp Hawk coming in the mail tomorrow, so I can let you know how they are. I will post a new thread about it when I get it.

You could probably get the smaller trapper, and buy an extra 18" helve for it, light, fast, decent length with a hardened hammer poll. Hand made in the USA too:)

Just Google Fort Turner Tomahawks.

Splitter.

May check that out. Is two hawks a good or bad way to go? I've heard good and bad on them.

I personally wouldn't buy one for the price. I heard that they are cast, not hand forged with a hammer on anvil.

You can almost get a Wolf Creek Forge, and a Fort Turner for the price of one 2Hawks.

Just my opinion.

I have also seen a few of them (2Hawks) break/shatter while chopping.

Wow thanks for telling me. I'm really glad I didn't just risk that amount of money. This is why I come here! ;) Are there any use tests on youtube of either of these options? I'd love to see one in action.

I have a YouTube channel, and my Camp hawk (the slightly bigger trapper hawk) by Fort Turner is coming tomorrow in the mail. If you can wait a little while, I will make a video for you about it.

Once it is all done, I will post the videos up here in this Sub-forum as a new thread.

Sound good?
