I am looking for a really really small, very lightweight radio for backpacking and camping. I want to have AM/FM/ and NOAA weather capabilities. I saw few on Triple Aughts web site, but I was wondering if there are any other models out there you guys have heard of. Weather resistance/shock resistance are also nice, and it would be nice if it had a small speaker with or without a earphone. Thanks a lot!!!

I just purchased one from Radio Shack and I like it a lot. The earphone wire is the antenna but there is a speaker/phone switch to go either way. The sensitivity is not great but passable. It has AM FM Weather and TV channels and is quite small. Sound quality is quite good from the small speaker. Battery life on the two AAA batteries is about 30hours. It has digital tuning and clock, alarm and sleep functions. The brand is the Optimus for Radio Shack.

I'd love to see Sony make one like it as it would then have much better sensitivity.

The Grundig should be excellent! http://usa.shortwavestore.com/grundig-weather-radio.html

I stopped in at Radio Shack and the little radio is on sale and soon to be discontinued. The sale price is $49.99 and the stock number is 12-797 It can still be ordered but not for long, as they just do a search of which stores have it and get it from there according to the manager where I was. He didn't have one in stock himself.
