I hope to one day get a Small Sebenza. What is that level (production) knife under 3"?
Let's go under $50 then
under $100 then
between $150 & $300...

Thanks.

These are easy:

Benchmade mini-griptilian (555 or 556) are outstanding for the money, I challenge any knife to have as smooth and easily operated lock.

Alternatively, the Spyderco Calypso Jr. is possibly the best edge I have ever used, both ergonomically, and in terms of sharpness.

Buy both. Skip the cost of a sebenza.

If you aren't opposed to the blade shape...Spyderco Dodo. It's a fabulous little knife. But really anything by Spyderco or Benchmade will prove to be the best "cheap" knife you'll own.

As said, anything SPyderco(not a big BM fan). THat's quicker htan me trying to list all the various models under 3". PIck one that suits you best. :)

Spydie Calypso Jr. Ltwt. $40 at newgraham.

amazing knife, basically all you need for EDC...or all I need.

If you'd like a Sebenza but can't afford the price, go for a Benchmade 335 D2 limited edition with titanium handle - it looks just like a Sebenza, but is slimmer & lighter.
It's discontinued, but www.americanheritagesports.com still has them for $65.
A beautiful little knife.

1. Benchmade 705
2. Benchmade mini-Grip or Spyderco Native w/S30V steel

I can't wait till Benchmade starts making the 705 & 806 in S30V
