This year for Valentine's day, my valentine gifted me with (you guessed it) a new blade :biggrin:

You know you've got a keeper when she goes out and buys you a knife for valentine's day. And she made a damn good choice too! To my joy and surprise I was gifted with a Kershaw Tone. Although it was a knife I'd never heard of before, further research revealed that it's an Academy exclusive, and if it lives up to my first impressions it will receive lots and lots of pocket time. It seems like a solid knife made even more special because someone near and dear to me had the thoughtfulness to pick it out.
Just thought I'd share, have a good one. -Blu

I am very Kershaw stupid, and not a very big fan of Tanto tips. Let us know how it works out with some usage. Wish I had a Valentine give me a blade instead of crummy chocolate.

I've bought my dad 2 of those and he loves them! Good flipper for around the $35 mark. He's put them through some hard use too.

That's a good woman you got there ;)

Academy also carries a tone fix blade as well FYI. Handle is much thinner than the folder.

Combined v-day/upcoming anniversary gift-

Small Sebenza 21 CF

God dang that's a sweet blade! Haha this was my girlfriend's first knife purchase ever, so she hasn't quite worked her way up to Sebenzas (;
Oh, and your signature is excellent btw

I'll probly do some sort of review later (: And Tantos arent really my thing either, but this was her first knife purchase ever, so I'd say she did a pretty dang good job.

Why ya gatta come on here and one up the man...bad form sir, bad form. :p
Hahah it's no worries. If I owned a piece of steel like that I'd show it off too!

The tone is one of the first "good" knives i purchased. It was my favorite knife for a while, then I lost interest in it until recently. I just took the torsion bar out and it is awesome! She picked a good one. :thumbup:

How'd you go about taking it out? Was it easy? And once you've taken it out it just becomes a manual folder? I prefer folders a bit over assisted openers honestly, and it seems like a worthy modification.

Taking the bar out is super easy if you have some small allen wrenches. You just take the non clip side scale off and take the little bar out. Its really smooth and opens with the flipper and a little wrist flick, or just by the thumb stud. If you like it better assisted you can always just put it back in. Hope that helps and let me know how it works out. :D
