Best warranty for folders?

Like the subject says, which companies offer the best all-round warranties and after-sales service for their folders? I've heard of at least one company that claims to fix or replace any of their knives that have been damaged in any way, even through accident or stupidity, but I think that's Busse and they don't make folders, AFAIK.

I'm looking for a tough-as-nails EDC folder to use in conjunction with the WH T12 MOP that I seem destined to buy, and ideally I'd like to support a company that cares enough about its customers (and knives!) to stand behind them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I'm not that familiar with them and don't have any of their knives but I was looking at the Strider web page today and they say they offer a lifetime warranty and their knives are supposed to be tough. you might want to have a look there.

Chris Reeve Knives has an incredible warranty backed by an excellent customer service department. Think about it, not only do they stand behind their product but they encourage the owner to disassemble the folders which in no way voids the warranty. You won't find that to be the case with most companies.

The best warrranties usually come from makers and companies that also happen to produce some of the best knives in the industry.

Their names are well known. The guarantee also denotes the 100 per cent confidence they have in their products.

Chris Reeve and Benchmade have some of the best customer services.

Lone Wolf knives also has great customer service. And you can never go wrong with anything Strider made.

I sent a Buck to them and TOLD them I used it to pry a pickup tailgate.

Asked for PRICE to repair. Got it back N/C and all refinished with a new blade.

:)

I have had exceptional customer service from Chris Reeve Knives, William Henry Knives and Buck Knives.

I have had adequate experiences with several others, but I would have to say it was a little more hit or miss. The three I mentioned above have been exceptional - 100% of the time.

I don't know about warranty, but Benchmade and Kershaw both have excellent customer service!

Thanks for the info... it's very helpful. I had a very good experience getting information from Kershaw about the Ken Onion SpeedSafe line a while back. That was the first time I've ever had to talk to a manufacturer, and they were very willing to help in any way they could. Now I'm starting to think about after-sales service.

Any stories, good or bad, about specific customer service experiences from production knife companies?

Architect: What happened with William Henry? I just ordered a T12 from them, hence my curiosity.

Chris

Chris Reeve knives, and Strider knives. Own more than a few of each. Both companies have stood behind their products 110% in my experience. Do some research into Striders and you'll find that Mick replaced a blade for a guy that was purposely destroyed. They are both very friendly companies as well.

John...

I have had great experiences with both Buck & Spyderco. Those are all the companies I dealt with, but I would trust BM, Strider & CRK implicitly.

STRIDER.....period. Oh and Spyderco has a damn good warranty too. Sal always makes things right:) Good luck with your search!!!

Customer service?

Strider, Emerson, Buck, in no order.

Strider and Emerson are no-nonsense, fast, and detailed. Reports of them replacing whole blades, liners, framelock slabs, G10 scales at no charge after they've been damaged in the line of duty.

Buck goes 150% out of their way to make it right, the way you want it.

I can name any number of other companies with POOR CS though...

Benchmade and Spyderco are two companies that I know for a fact take very good care of their customers, without balking.

I've dealt with Spyderco, Kershaw, and CRKT. Kershaw had the knife back in two weeks, Spyderco in three, and CRKT is going on two and a half months. Which reminds me I need to call them. So from my direct experience I can highly recommend Spyderco and Kershaw.

Once again, Benchmade and Kershaw. I have had one problem a piece with their knives (I own several), and was treated in a most excellent manner!
