Hi everyone!

Well I got bit by the HI bug and my first HI 'bit came Friday... It was the DotD on 10/23 and it is amazing... This is my first non production blade and it exceeded my expectations ten fold...

So much so that I decided to reach out to Yangdu to see if the other that was on the DotD on 10/30 was still looking for a home. Boy did I get lucky..

Now I am wondering what would be the most comfortable way I could carry these beauties? I have been playing around with the sheath that came with it, but wondered if anyone else had already solved this issue.... Why re-invent the wheel? dual harness? one side harness and one IWB? I noticed that the few positions I have tried kind of caused the handle to push into me when sitting or turning

Thanks for the help...

Guy

Pics will follow when I bring these blades together in a few weeks... :D

Why carry 2 similar knives?

I'm not against the idea to carry more than one blade, but the second should be a complement, for things the first one is not designed for.

Oh, they would not be the only blades on me... I carry a couple of CRKTs on me also. One being a M16 Spear point folder and the other being a Bear Claw with a serrated edge...

thats a lotta knives your carrying :)

you could always opt for custom kydex to be made for you kerambits

leatherface aka dave should be able to assist you ;)

What are you, a mall ninja :p

I didn't tell you before, but nice kerambits:thumbup:

Hehehehe...

Yeah, I guess so... I've dabbled in different stuff over the years and now that I'm turning 40 I am going into my old sneaky knife guy stage...

Maybe I should have asked what is the most comfortable carrying position for HI 'bit owners and then later combined a couple...

Plus, Memphis is one of the worst cities for crime... It is horrible here.. Heck I don't even watch local news anymore because it is so depressing...

Also, don't forget zombies man, ZOMBIES!

 hmmmmm..... Oklahoma sounds quite nice.... or New Zealand..... ?

We are in the process of trying to sell our home and move out of Shelby county completely...

I have a ton of family in Oklahoma... Took my wife there in September for the first time and she couldn't believe how nice everyone was...

Dear SeaIce,
probably better trying Oklahoma, because if you are a white Anglo- Saxon protestant you would most likely find much difficulty with New Zealand immigration requirements. Still, try anyway - as it is still yet pretty good here (in NZ)! A change of govt at the next election might indeed help matters,

Tom Krein made a nice kydex sheath for my HI kerambits. He probably could do the same for you if he is still doing it. I have also used a merc-harness to carry one, but two might be too heavy to be comfortable.

Dan Koster makes some very nice kydex for HI khurambits. Dave (Leatherface) also makes some nice sheaths out of skin.

Do a search and see what you come up with.

I've always found one kerambit to be more than enough knife/protection. If you need to pull out a blade (God forbid), then 9" of curved gleaming steel should be off putting enough for any would be attacker not brandishing a firearm or 5' polearm:P

I've always found that the 'bit fits wonderfully in the inside breast pocket of my jackets. Granted, if i pull it out quickly, it's sheathed. However, that seems like a technicality, really. If I will be in an area where I might want to pull it out quickly and at the ready, I just wear it on small of my back on my belt. The HI 'bit is the .38 snubbie of the SD khuk world. Given a choice, you'll probably want something bigger. Given the situation, it's probably the largest piece of steel you're going to have on your person.

BTW, I LOVE antler kerambits. I would love to have a matching set like that:eek::D

Yep, I have already been talking to Mr. Koster and Just got through looking at Leatherface's site... I don't think I could go wrong with either! Still just playing around with the sheath it came with to find the best option for me...

I know I probably won't have them both on me at the same time, but nice knowing I could comfortably pull it off when I felt like it...

The answer to that also answers the problem of how to carry two of them. . ."But honey, one is for you. His and hers, aren't they pretty?"

There really is something nice about an antler Kermashee

(yes, I'm being a snot about the name...:D...but don't let it detract from the beauty of the knife!)
