hey all i'm almost finished with a knife for my brother in law, it is my interpretation of a knife from one of Mr Robert Jordan's novels , i will post a few pics when its done, basically its a big plainly made bowie, no frills just workman like. Anyway i am finishing the handle and doing a superglue finish on the purpleheart spacer, but not sure what to do with the elk antler that makes up the vast majority of it. any thoughts?

thanks for the words, wet sanding didnt even dawn on me, took your advice, sanded it to clean up and blend a little, couldnt find paste wax, but did get some howard feed n wax wood polish and that worked a treat, will post pics in next day or so, thanks bill!

Use 0000 steel wool to buff, or use a buffer for better results. Neutral paste shoe polish is great as a wax.

Photos? I am thinking about using Elk antler in the near future and would love to see how yours turned out.
