I have a bead blasted CRKT and am thinking about polishing it to a smoother finish. What is the best way to go about doing so?

Successively finer grades of wet or dry sandpaper, with each new grit being polished at right angles to the previous grit.

I think using the Flitz metal polisher would be the best choice. I havent used it, but from what I heard it is excellent stuff.

I actually have a tube I'm about to use on beloved Cold Steel kukri cause I negelcted and it has alot of hardend dirt and rust on it.

I asked my question in Shop Talk and everybody screamed "USE FLITZ! IT'S KICK ASS S*** FOR EVERYTHING!"

So I'm going to try it this weekend, I'll let you know how it works.

Yeah, what Walt said. I haven't ever used the flitz stuff, but I know SiC sandpaper works. I have tried it with a few blades and it works great. Just start coarse and go thru progressively finer grits. I also found that I can polish a blade to a mirror finish with a 4" wide strop I made loaded with 1200 grit silicone carbide. I just rub the flat parts of the blade on the strop until I get there.

good luck!
